Lover's Bridge

Ahhhhhhh Paris.  In the romantic capital of the world, lovers fasten padlocks to the railings of the Pont des Arts bridge. The couples then toss the keys into the Seine river below, symbolizing their eternal love.  You know you wanna.

Lead Foot

Dalton Ghetti, a carpenter from Connecticut, has the most incredible and amazing way to relax.  He carves pencil leads.  He does it all without the aid of a magnifying glass.  Since pencil carving is still a hobby, some of the pieces take years to create (the alphabet took 2 1/2 years). He even has a box of pieces that have broken while he was sculpting them.  He calls it his "cemetery collection".  Currently he is working on a piece inspired by the World Trade Center bombing.  Since 2002, every day, he carves one of the victims out of lead, over 3000.  Upon completion they, together, will form a large tear.  It will take about 10 years. For Ghetti, it is worth it.

I saw this swear word ring on one of my favorite blogs this morning, Kingdom Of Style. It's so awesome. I am a big fan of knuckle rings and this comes in a set of 4 and covers all your knuckles in a super bad ass fashion. Calder Calls To Me

For the first time ever an exhibition of Alexandre Calder's jewelry will be exhibited at the San Diego Museum of Modern Art. The exhibit brings together 90plus pieces, all worn by Calder's family and close friends. Calder is most well known for his kinetic works. I suppose these can be thought of kinetic as well as they move with the wearer. As a lover of modernist jewelry myself, I'll be heading down south soon to catch the show.....and the gift shop.
